CHARACTERIZATION OF SYNTHESIZED POLYMERIC BLEND MEMBRANES ENHANCED BY METHYL DIETHANOLAMINE FOR EFFICIENT CO2 SEPARATION

The limited performance of pure glassy and rubbery polymeric membranes for natural gas purification are due to their intrinsic properties. Optimizing properties by blending both polymers expected address the shortage. foremost objective this research is synthesis enhance polymer blend (EPBM) using polysulfone (PSU) polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) with addition amine carbon dioxide (CO2) removal from methane (CH4). EPBM were developed varying composition PVAc ranging 5 20 wt. % 95 80 base PSU in dimethylacetamide (DMAc) solvent. amines was added kept at 10 over findings showed good miscibility between blends original functional groups shown FTIR very few spectral peak shifts. synthesized found have homogenous surfaces a packed bed sphere structure as FESEM images. Increasing has significantly reduced glass transition temperature (Tg) 185.09oC 155.75oC.
